5 THINGS YOU CAN DO TO TREAT YOUR DOG FOR
World Animal Day is at its core a day where we celebrate the relationship between humans and animals. And what better relationship is there between humans and animals than us and our dogs. An animal known around the world lovingly as our ‘best friend’ definitely deserves some loving on this special day for animals everywhere.
To celebrate this special relationship with our dogs, we think it is time to give them a special treat they will remember. Whether it’s giving them more of what you know they love or introducing them to something new. We have created a list of 5 things that you can do to celebrate your relationship with your dog this World Animal Day.
1. TAKE THEM ON AN ADVENTURE!
Taking your dog out and about is often one of their favourite things to do with you. With the word ‘walk’ making tails wag to no end, a trip anywhere will really get them excited!
But what if you took them somewhere outside of your normal walking route? Somewhere they’ve never been before.
Dogs love exploring a new environment that is full of new things to sniff and discover. Taking them to somewhere exciting like a beach or a lake that they haven’t visited before will be a fantastic treat for them. And a day to remember for the both of you!
2. GET THEM A PUPPUCCINO.
If you haven’t heard of a puppuccino, don’t worry it’s not something you’ll find on a Starbucks or Costa menu. If you have heard, well look at you!
A puppuccino for those who haven’t heard, is a completely free secret menu item that you can order from Starbucks and Costa in the UK. It’s an espresso cup full of whipped cream which dogs go crazy for! Don’t believe us? Just look at this youtube compilation of some dogs absolutely loving them!
Taking your dog along on your normal coffee run to get a special treat is a great way to show your appreciation for them on World Animal Day!
3. TAKE THEM ON A PLAYDATE
Although you are your dog’s best friend, you can’t quite do ‘everything’ that they like to do. For example zooming around a park and rolling around in some mud might not be the best look for you!
That’s why taking your dogs to meet with other four legged friends can be a great treat for them. As they can run around, release all their energy and just be them!
If your dog doesn’t have a particular friend in mind that they can call on, you can always take them to your local dog park for the same experience! Just be sure to make sure your dog gets along with them before you let them run wild.
4. GO TOY SHOPPING
We all know our dogs love toys! No matter whether it’s a fluffy teddy, a squeaky ball, tug o’ war rope or even your favourite slipper. Whatever they can get their paws on they love to play with and entertain themselves.
As we know the things they play with often wear down and fall apart due to the sear amount of ‘love’ they get from your dog. Taking them to get a brand new toy to replace the one that’s falling apart is a great way to show some appreciation for your dog.
Giving them all the excitement in the world as they play with their new favourite toy!
5. TREAT THEM TO AN AT HOME GROOM!
We all love a good pamper session. It’s a great chance to relax and reset our minds and our bodies after taking on the many stresses that life throws our way.
Your dog is just as in need of that TLC as you are. Their coats can get filled with dead hair and tangles that make them uncomfortable and can be bad for their health if left unattended too. Giving your dogs coats some TLC with some at home grooming tools will help keep their coats healthy and therefore keep them happy on this special day!
